Cargo receptor molecules anchor myosin-V to the cargo. A few of these molecules have been identified. For example, the myosin-Va in melanocytes are anchored to melanosomes by the Rab27a-melanophilin receptor complex, with the melanophilin acting as a bridge between myosin-Va and Rab27a. I am studying the interaction of myosin-V with its cargo receptor molecules.
