I am interested in examining nucleotide binding/unbinding to Myosin V using single molecule fluorescence. This involves finding ways to increase the concentration of a fluorescent molecule while preserving the ability to resolve single molecules. To do this, I'm going to be using zero-mode waveguides to limit the excitation volume of the fluorescent species.
